National Just Because Day
What exactly does one do to celebrate National Just Because Day? Anything you want, just because. Get out there and do stuff. Do things, just because. Bring someone with you to enjoy doing things just because you can. Just be sure that the things and stuff that you do are well within the law.

So what does “Just Because” look like?
- Perhaps you would like to buy a gift for a friend……do it…just because
- Remember that pair of boots you couldn’t justify buying?….yeah, do it…just because
- Adopt a pet…..just because
- Remodel a room….just because
- Take a long drive…to the next state…just because
- Have a parent, child day…..just because
- Take a day off work and go to the beach, or fishing, or kayaking….just because
- Sit down, read a book, and ignore your responsibilities…just because.
Certainly not a giant list, but just to give you an idea of just how random this day can be. If you are a completely random person by nature, then by all means, feel free to be predictive for the day. For you, that would be just because. Just celebrate National Just Because Day with reckless abandon!
Just Because Day History
This one seems to be the oldest one we’ve come across so far. We think of National Days as being relatively new, but this day dates back pretty far. It got its start sometime in the late fifties to early sixties.
The first form of Just Because Day might be a versatile occasion called Because Day, which was first celebrated on the third Wednesday in May. Joseph J. Goodwin of Los Gatos, California, imagined it in the late fifties or mid-sixties. He turned the gift of a portable radio for his spouse into a family occasion.
For Goodwin, It wasn’t such a tremendous amount about radio as it was tied in with commending life, free evenings, and family. Thus, what started as a healthy family occasion praising the beauty of closeness throughout everyday life, developed into a yearly festival across the United States.
