National Lazy Mom’s Day

Spread the love

Who you callin’ lazy!?! Oh, you say National Lazy Mom’s Day was created just for me? Ok – you can call me lazy. National Lazy Mom’s Day is not really for the literal lazy mom who could actually care less about caring for her children. It’s intended to give the everyday busy mom a break by delegating chores to someone else in the house. Give mom a break, she earns it each day.

Moms of the world are some of the busiest people out there. Their job is NEVER done. Moms never get sick days. Regardless of how they feel, they still have laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning, taking the kids to school and picking them up, running errands, and then maybe some rest. Let’s not forget that most of them have jobs outside the home in addition to all the rest of the “mom work”. Every once in a while those ladies need a break from the norm in order to keep going. Don’t get me wrong, I know that the dad’s help, but in a typical home (as nature intended) the mom does most of the work at home. Dads have more physical jobs, often longer commutes, and are a very different tired when they get home.

Moms suffer from mental exhaustion and while that is serious too, physical jobs take a toll on mental and physical states.

How to celebrate this day

Much like I already said, give mom a break. You don’t need to say that she already has mother’s day. We are well aware, but should she have a special day before she can get some help and a well-deserved break from the monotony? I think not. This day may be viewed differently by some, but ultimately, who doesn’t want a break?

So get off your lazy duff and help mom out today. Mow the lawn. Put your clothes away. Pick up after yourself. Put the toilet seat down. Take mom out for lunch (if you have a job). Stop yelling her name every five minutes. The list goes on and on.
